2023 Commitment to Caring Award Recipients

Abundant Christian Living Community - Rehabilitation Center, Assisted Living and  Independent Living were asked to nominate employees that continually demonstrate a “Commitment to Caring”. These employees were nominated based upon the criteria of:

• Relating well to residents, families, visitors, staff, and supervisors; respecting resident’s rights;
• Consistently performing beyond basic job requirements; promoting safety in the workplace;
• Striving to maintain personal and professional growth through in-services or external educational opportunities;
• Maintaining a positive “can-do” attitude;
• Having dependable attendance; participating in company sponsored events;
• Participating as a team player;
• And overall continually demonstrating the “Commitment to Caring” philosophy.
   

Rehabilitation Center Award:

Alexandra Lewis has worked at Abundant Christian Living Community for the past 15 months. She continually shows a “Commitment to Caring” by having a positive, bubbly personality that hopefully brings joy to the residents. She is personable with everyone in making sure they feel heard and seen. Her goal everyday is to make someone laugh. She also strives to be on time.
 

She stated that her motivation is to be honored by caring for her patients.
 

Alexandra shared that she likes working at Abundant Christian Living Community because she loves the residents very much and enjoys working with her fellow nurses and CNAs.
 

When asked what her most memorable experience has been, she said helping with the Veterans Day Celebration because she has a lot of Veterans in her family and it is so rewarding to be able to celebrate and honor them.

Assisted Living Award:

Annie Simerly has worked at Abundant Christian Living Community for the past 25 years. She continually shows a “Commitment to Caring” by trying to please the residents with their food.

She stated that her motivation is seeing the smiles on the faces of the residents. It warms her heart.

Annie shared that she likes working at Abundant Christian Living Community because she likes the residents and her co-workers. She also enjoys her job.

When asked what her most memorable experiences have been, she said when the residents come up to her and hug her and tell her that they love her.

Independent Living Award:

Seth Morlan has worked at Abundant Christian Living Community for the past 3 years. He continually shows a “Commitment to Caring” by going the extra mile and always being respectful and helpful.
 

He stated that his motivation is making the lives of the residents as comfortable and happy as possible.
 

Seth shared that he likes working at Abundant Christian Living Community because he enjoys his job and the people he works with.
 

When asked what his most memorable experiences have been, he said when residents call his daughter by name and ask how she is doing in school. He also enjoys when the residents share their life stories with him and seeing their faces light up when he walks in the room. They have become his family.
