Don McIntire turns 100!

Happy 100th to our longtime resident Don McIntire! 

Don has lived at ACLC for 10 years, and celebrated his 100th birthday surrounded by three of his four children, and many ACLC staff and residents.

Travel, music and family are core components of Don’s life. He has lived in multiple states including Oklahoma, Massachusetts, Indiana, Ohio, Washington, and now Tennessee. Although he traveled the world with his wife, singing in a choir, he said his favorite place is his home state of Oklahoma.

Out of high school, in 1944, Don wanted to be part of the Naval Air Corps. He served while at the University of Michigan for six semesters.

He later got his degree and master’s in electrical engineering at the University of Oklahoma and worked for General Electric in Massachusetts until he retired at 65.

Now in Tennessee, at ACLC, Don says he enjoys the scenery and the people who surround him. His favorite thing to do is gain knowledge through both books and the residents in the community.
